Ocotillo Wind Energy Facility
Ocotillo Express LLC submitted a plan of development to the BLM El Centro Field Office for the construction of a wind energy facility on a 15,000-acre site near Ocotillo and Coyote Wells.
Supporting Policy Documents
Aspen’s Catherine Elder was identified as an author of the Gas Decarbonization Chapter of the Energy Commission’s 2021 Integrated Energy Policy Report (IEPR). The IEPR is produced every two years as a policy report to the California legislature.
Environmental Regulatory Support Services
Aspen provided environmental support for various projects under Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)’s Environmental Regulatory Support Services on-call contract.
Environmental Documentation and Special Environmental Services
In 2019, Aspen was awarded a three-year $3.0 million on-call contract by the City of Los Angeles, acting by and through its Board of Harbor Commissioners to provide as-needed environmental documentation and special environmental services for projects associated with the Port of Los Angeles (POLA).
Mesa and Alta Mesa Wind Project
The existing Mesa Wind Project is located entirely on approximately 450 acres of lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in Riverside County. The project is located about 11 miles northwest of the City of Palm Springs, north of Interstate 10 and just west of the Whitewater River.
Laguna Beach Fuel Modification
Aspen prepared an IS/MND and two Categorical Exemptions for three different projects on behalf of the City of Laguna Beach Fire Department.
Oberon Renewable Energy Project
The Oberon Renewable Energy Project is a 500-megawatt solar photovoltaic facility with integrated energy storage and a generation-tie line that connects into the statewide power grid.
On-Call Biological Services
Under an on-call contract with Western Area Power Administration, Aspen has been conducting biological and cultural surveys and monitoring for various task order projects.
Matilija Dam Ecosystem Restoration Project
Aspen prepared the EIS/EIR to support a Corps of Engineers feasibility study for the removal of Matilija Dam on Matilija Creek, which is a tributary of the Ventura River.
Puerco Canyon Campground and Trailhead Project
Under contract with the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority (MRCA), Aspen provided CEQA-compliance support, including project scoping and alternative site analysis, for development of a day use, camping, and trailhead recreational facility in Puerco Canyon, located in the Santa Monica Mountains just north of the City of Malibu.
Sunset Upper Debris Basin Debris Flow Barriers
Aspen prepared a Biological Resources Technical Report and Preliminary Jurisdictional Waters and Wetlands Delineation Report for the proposed project. The project site is located within the foothills northeast of the City of Burbank, within Los Angeles County.
Cogswell Reservoir Restoration Project
Aspen is supporting the County with the environmental review and permitting of this sediment removal project. The County anticipates removing approximately 2.5 million cubic yards of sediment from Cogswell Reservoir, which is in the south-central portion of the Angeles National Forest along the West Fork of the San Gabriel River (WFSGR)
Post Fire Response, La Sierra and Triunfo Canyon Emergency Rail and Timber Structures
Aspen prepared emergency work permits for the project, which involved emergency repairs to four flood control structures in and adjacent to the Triunfo Canyon Open Space Area, near the city of Westlake California, northwest Los Angeles County.
Alondra Park Multi-benefit Stormwater Capture Project
Aspen is preparing an initial site-specific environmental analysis following the current State CEQA Guidelines Appendix G Checklist to determine if an Addendum to the 2015 Los Angeles County Flood Control District Enhanced Watershed Management Programs (EWMP) Final Environmental Impact Report (Program EIR) is the appropriate CEQA document for the Alondra Park Multi-benefit Stormwater Capture Project.
Ventura River Levee (VR-1) Improvement Project
The VCPWA-WP contracted Aspen to prepare the required CEQA/NEPA documents and permits for the Ventura River (VR-1) Levee Rehabilitation Project.
