Aspen Environmental Group to Support LA County’s Renewable Energy Ordinance Update

Aspen Environmental Group is proud to announce its selection to support Los Angeles County Department of Regional Planning to prepare the Renewable Energy Ordinance (REO) update technical study and Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR). Adopted in December 2016, the REO was designed to address the siting and development of renewable energy technologies within the County. The update will focus on renewable energy facilities and the integration of energy storage systems to meet the County’s sustainability goals.

Aspen’s technical study will evaluate renewable energy generation and storage potential across unincorporated lands of Los Angeles County and will identify the technologies that are best suited to supporting the County’s renewable energy procurement goals. The findings from the technical study will be one of the factors that will inform the REO update. Aspen’s expertise in energy planning and analysis will ensure that the County’s REO Update is supported by a thorough assessment of the technological and environmental issues associated with renewable energy.
