Redwood Creek Watershed Trails Project

Project Specifications

Client: Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy and State Parks

Location: San Francisco County

Services: Environmental Review & Permitting

Aspen prepared a joint CEQA/NEPA document for two adjoining hiking and equestrian trails south of Muir Woods National Monument. In order to protect Redwood Creek and its salmon, the project will relocate portions of Redwood Creek Trail and install bridges at several crossing to reduce impacts. Degraded portions of the trail and watershed will be restored and stabilized to reduce the introduction of silt to the creek. To complete a trail loop, a new connector trail will be built between the Redwood Creek Trail and the existing Dias Ridge Trail. These trails are on both National Park Service and California State Park lands.

Aspen prepared the CEQA/NEPA document for the project, an Initial Study/Environmental Assessment, as well as consulted with the NPS and State Parks on appropriate mitigation measures to be  implement to protect the creek and minimize environmental impacts.
