California River Parkways Trailhead Project

The California River Parkways Trailhead Project involved the construction of a trailhead and parking area along the Ventura River. The project includes: (1) a parking lot and trailhead, encompassing 0.86 acres, for equestrian trailers, buses, and passenger vehicles, including ADA-compatible parking spaces; (2) an interpretive kiosk providing information about the trails, trail safety, cultural resources, and natural resources; and (3) trail improvements and expansion, including a connector trail between the parking areas and an existing unimproved maintenance road, an ADA-compatible trail adjacent to the maintenance road, and improvements to existing trials maintained by the Ojai Valley Land Conservancy. Aspen prepared an Initial Study and Mitigation Negative Declaration for the project following the Ventura County Initial Study Assessment Guidelines.
