Aspen's Catherine Elder to Deliver Keynote at Illinois Municipal Utilities Conference

Aspen Environmental Group's Catherine Elder, Practice Leader for Energy Economics, Policy, and Markets, will serve as the keynote speaker at the annual conference of the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) and its sister organizations, the Illinois Public Energy Agency (IPEA) and the Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA). The event will take place on May 16 in Springfield, Illinois.

The IMEA is an electric joint action agency with 32 municipal members across the state, while the IPEA is a natural gas joint agency with 12 municipal/coop members. The IMUA serves as a key trade organization for Illinois municipal utilities, offering training, technical services, and legislative advocacy. The three organizations frequently collaborate to support the needs of the state.

Elder’s invitation to deliver the keynote address stems from the visibility and insights she shared at the American Public Power Association’s (APPA) national conference. The audience for this event is expected to be about 60 to 70 people, including elected officials, utility managers, linemen, and administrative staff from municipal utilities across Illinois.

Aspen is honored to support public power leaders and continues to provide expert guidance on the evolving landscape of energy markets, policy, and economics.
