Aspen Environmental Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Air Quality Specialist to support projects focused primarily on CEQA/NEPA analysis, air quality impact modeling, and greenhouse gas emissions inventory evaluations. The Air Quality Specialist will work as part of a multidisciplinary environmental team and collaborate with other recognized experts.

Required Education and Experience
B.S. degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical) or Science (Environmental, Atmospheric, Meteorological, Chemistry, Toxicology, or Data Science) required; M.S. and/or P.E. a plus.
Minimum of 5 to 8 years of direct consulting, public agency, or industry experience in air quality-related aspects of CEQA/NEPA services.
Key Responsibilities
Write environmental impact analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations.
Write evaluations of complex air quality impact analyses, compliance, and permitting situations.
Perform multiple tasks within scope, budget, and schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Communicate environmental standards to management and/or clients.
Interact and maintain successful relationships with clients, in-house project managers and staff, and subcontractors.
Work independently and with teams to complete assignments.
Deliver assignments on time and within the allotted budget.
Engage in business development efforts.
Qualifications for Success
Subject matter expertise in air pollution principles, air quality impact analysis methodologies, greenhouse gas emissions inventory development and management strategies, and California policies and regulatory programs of local air districts and the state.
Actively stays informed regarding the changing regulatory landscape in California.
Experience with AERMOD dispersion modeling and related software for ambient impact evaluation and health risk assessment.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on environmental protection, health, safety, quality, budget, and schedule.
Highly developed organizational skills, with attention to both the big picture and detail, to meet competing deadlines and demands.
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, and meet strict deadlines.
Success in new business development preferred.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and basic computer skills required.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $97,000 - $130,000 commensurate with experience.
