Due to our strong energy sector experience, Aspen was recently selected to assist the California State Lands Commission to prepare the EIR for the decommissioning of the offshore cooling water intake and discharge conduits, as well as shoreline riprap and environmental monitoring buoys of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).

Assembly Bill x1 13 (Perez, Chapter 10, Statutes of 2011-12 First Extraordinary Session) added Section 25619 to the Public Resources Code directing the California Energy Commission to provide up to seven million dollars in grants to qualified California counties.

Since October 2013, Aspen has been assisting the Ventura County Watershed Protection District (VCWPD) with the SCR-3 Project, and recently completed the Final EIR in June 2016.

Since the company’s inception, Aspen has assumed the role of prime contractor for large, publicly visible, and multidisciplinary teams. As a result, we have always considered one of our primary strengths to be project management and, in the case of on-call service contracts, program management.
