Aspen’s Suzanne Phinney Makes Presentation to Nevada Public Utility Commission

Aspen Environmental Group Senior Associate Suzanne Phinney made a presentation entitled “California Renewable Energy and Water Resources” to the Nevada Public Utility Commissioners on January 22, 2013. In the presentation, she discussed the role of water use in electricity generation in California, particularly as it relates to renewable energy and provided examples of changes that solar thermal power plant operators have made to reduce water use. She also discussed how California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard certification program could affect water use in power plants out of state.
