Aspen’s Catherine Elder to Speak about U.S. Natural Gas Supply in Taiwan

Natural Gas-1Aspen’s Senior energy analyst, Catherine Elder, has accepted an invitation to speak at a November 14 workshop in Taipei, Taiwan about the U.S. natural gas supply outlook.  The workshop, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and its American Institute in Taipei in concert with the Taiwan Bureau of Energy, aims to explore the potential for U.S. LNG exports to help Taiwan achieve its energy goals.  Over 75% of Taiwan’s electricity is generated with either coal or oil, yet hopes to change that via aggressive energy efficiency and carbon reduction goals.  Ms. Elder, a recognized expert on natural gas supply and demand and energy planning will be joined at the workshop by David Maul of Maul Energy Advisors, Dr. Steven Lewis of Rice University, Keith Lesnick of the U.S. Maritime Administration where he manages the Deepwater Port program, and Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr. Chang Chia-Juch.
