Piru Creek Environmental Review and Permitting Services, Los Angeles County
Under contract to the Department of Water Resources, Aspen prepared an IS/MND and obtained Corps
of Engineers (Clean Water Act Section 404), CDFG (Fish and Game Code Section 1602 Streambed
Alteration Agreement), RWQCB (Clean Water Act Section 401 Water Quality Certification), SWRCB
(Clean Water Act Section 402 General Permit [storm water discharges] compliance), and USFS
authorizations to repair three access sites to the California Aqueduct and to seismically retrofit
a bridge along Piru Creek. Additional services included preparing a USFS Biological
Evaluation/Biological Assessment, a Habitat Mitigation and Monitoring Plan, conducting
pre-construction sensitive species surveys, and conducting construction monitoring and worker
training. In addition, Aspen assisted the restoration of affected areas by working with
construction personnel to install native plants as part of the construction activities.
