Project Type: Surface Water Drainage

The Simulation of Natural Flows in Middle Piru Creek

As part of an on-call Environmental Services contract with the California Department of Water Resources Aspen prepared the EIR for proposed changes to the seasonal flow release schedule of Pyramid Dam, located at the southern end of Pyramid Lake, Los Angeles County. The project was proposed to improve habitat conditions along middle Piru Creek for the arroyo toad. Emphasis of the EIR was placed on biological resources, water resources, and public recreation. The EIR additionally included the documentation required to initiate the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's review and approval of the project. Aspen's efforts included preparation of all CEQA-related draft and final documents, the coordination and facilitation of all CEQA-related public hearings and meetings, the coordination and publication of all public and agency notices, both locally and regionally, and oversight of all document publications and distribution.
