Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System Project (CEC)
Aspen is assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment/EIS for the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System. This is a joint BLM and CEC document which will review three solar thermal power plants in a single NEPA/CEQA process. The proposed project would be constructed in three phases: two 100 MW phases (known as Ivanpah 1 and Ivanpah 2) and a 200 MW phase (Ivanpah 3). The three plants are collectively referred to as the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System and would be located in southern California's Mojave Desert, near the Nevada border on approximately 3,400 acres.
Additionally, as part of a comprehensive cumulative analysis, Aspen is preparing an analysis of potential cumulative impacts that would occur as a result of implementation of future solar and wind development projects that are currently proposed on over one million acres of land owned by the BLM in the desert areas of southeastern California, southern Nevada, and western Arizona.
