Project Type: Energy

Other Solar Projects for California Energy Commission (CEC)

Beacon Solar Energy Project (CEC)

Aspen is assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the Beacon Solar Energy Project which would build a 250 MW solar electric facility on an approximately 2,012-acre site in Kern County. The project would be comprised of parabolic trough solar collectors and would include two auxiliary natural gas fueled-boilers with a new 17.6-mile, eight-inch gas pipeline for fueling the two boilers.

Stirling Energy Systems, Solar 1 Project (CEC)

Aspen is assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the Stirling Energy Systems (SES) Solar 1 which would be one of the world's largest solar power projects. The project would have 34,000 solar dish Stirling systems, occupying 8,230 acres in an undeveloped area of San Bernardino County. The SES Solar 1 will use SES's Suncatcher proprietary technology, which consists of solar concentrating dishes coupled with Solar Stirling Engine Power Conversion Units (PCU).

Stirling Energy Systems, Solar 2 Project (CEC)

Aspen is assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the SES Solar 2 which would have 30,000 solar dish Stirling systems, occupying 6,500 acres in an undeveloped area of Imperial County. The SES Solar 2 will use SES's Suncatcher proprietary technology, which consists of solar concentrating dishes coupled with Solar Stirling Engine PCUs.

San Joaquin Solar 1 & 2, Hybrid (CEC)

Aspen is assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the San Joaquin Solar 1&2 Hybrid Power Plant Project which would consist of two hybrid design solar thermal electric generating plants, comprising a solar field and biomass facility for each plant. The project would occupy 640 acres in an agricultural area in Fresno County to produce 106.8 MW.

Mojave Solar One, (CEC)

Aspen will assist the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the Mojave Solar One Project designed to produce 250 MW of solar thermal energy, located in western San Bernardino County, close to the Kern County border.

FPL Project Genesis (CEC)

Aspen will assist the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the FPL Project Genesis designed to produce 250 MW of solar thermal energy, located in Riverside County.

Esolar 1 (CEC)

Aspen will assist the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the Esolar 1 Project designed to produce 84 MW of solar thermal energy, located in Los Angeles County.

Esolar 2 (CEC)

Aspen will be assisting the CEC in preparing the Staff Assessment for the Esolar 2 Project designed to produce 66 MW of solar thermal energy, located in Kern County.
