In response to the energy crisis in early 2001 the CPUC requested an EIR for PG&E's proposed 84-mile long 500 kV transmission line to supplement the State's major north-south transmission network. On an extremely expedited schedule, Aspen organized and held scoping meetings, and managed a team of six subcontractors to prepare a comprehensive 600-page Draft Supplemental EIR that was released in October 2001. A Final Supplemental EIR was released in early 2002. The project construction is complete.
