Project Type: Water Supply

Piru Creek Erosion Control and Bridge Seismic Retrofit Project

Under contract with the DWR Aspen prepared an MND/IS to evaluate the impacts of this project, which proposed to maintain four access routes to DWR's facilities along the West Branch of the California Aqueduct downstream of the Pyramid Dam. Project-related construction could result in potentially significant impacts to biological resources, cultural resources, geology and soils, hazards and hazardous materials, hydrology and water quality, noise, and transportation and traffic. Aspen conducted pre-construction biological surveys for arroyo toad, southwestern pond turtles, two-striped garter snakes, as well as protocol surveys for southwestern willow flycatcher and least Bell's vireo.
