Aspen provided environmental support for various projects under Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD)’s Environmental Regulatory Support Services on-call contract. Aspen’s services included CEQA and NEPA compliance, biological and cultural surveys, permit acquisition and resources agency consultation, and construction and mitigation monitoring. Over six years, Aspen completed over 180 task orders for SMUD including preparing an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center Substation Project; a biological assessment and cultural report for the extension of the Bradshaw 69kV utility line; as well as conducted over 175 quick-turnaround biological surveys and biological monitoring tasks for SMUD, including construction monitoring for the Rancho Seco Switchyard Expansion Project.
