Aspen Trains Junior Staff Through Internal Mentoring Program
In March 2021, Aspen’s senior leadership team developed a program called ‘Mentoring Aspen’s Young Professionals’ (MAYP). This program was initiated to provide training and mentorship to Aspen’s junior staff so they can advance their careers and become cross-trained in a variety of different disciplines. Aspen believes that the future of the company lies in the younger generation of staff and therefore believes investing in training our younger staff will help the company to grow in the long term. As part of the MAYP Program, on a monthly basis, one of Aspen’s senior leaders provides a one-hour training course on the topic of their choice. Topics thus far have covered:
CEQA Basics
Budget Workshop
Why Teams Fail
Retirement Savings
10 Steps to Get to the Next Level
Mitigation Measures
Current Projects Lessons Learned
Time Management
Alternatives Assessment
Writing Skills
The MAYP Program was developed with the intention of bringing junior staff together from all different Aspen offices and departments to foster relationships and camaraderie amongst staff. The program has been so successful that Aspen has also recently developed a similar program for mid-level staff at Aspen. Aspen is committed to providing training opportunities to staff throughout their careers to encourage individual growth and enhance the quality of our work.
