Dr. Hamid Rastegar is one of the original founders and current majority owner of Aspen Environmental Group. He serves as President and Chief Executive Officer. Dr. Rastegar has more than 30 years of broad experience in management of multi-disciplinary projects involving the infrastructure, energy, and petroleum industries. In addition to directing and managing projects, Dr. Rastegar has conducted environmental assessments in the areas of air quality modeling and impact analysis, health risk assessments, liquid petroleum and natural gas pipeline safety analyses, petroleum products supply and demand studies, and permitting.
Founder and Vice Presidents
Jon Davidson is the Vice President in Aspen’s Agoura Hills office. He is an environmental professional with more than 30 years of experience providing consulting services to government agencies and private clients. Mr. Davidson has served as a project manager for the environmental review of numerous projects, and has also managed several on-call environmental services contracts for government agencies. He has experience working on a range of different types of projects, but with a significant focus on infrastructure and public works projects, including substantial experience with energy and water projects.
Susan Lee is the Vice President in Aspen’s San Francisco office. She has over 27 years of experience and has been at Aspen for 18 years. Her expertise is in management of environmental assessment for energy projects (pipelines, transmission lines, and electricity generation facilities) under both the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). She has managed the analysis of large solar energy projects and has also had an active role in the California Energy Commission’s assessment of utility-scale solar energy projects to support State’s Renewable Portfolio Standards.
Tom Murphy is the Vice President in Aspen’s Sacramento office. He has 19 years of experience with project management, environmental impact assessments, compliance, and planning. This includes work under National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and numerous federal, state, and local environmental regulations. He is an expert in managing large on-call environmental and engineering service contracts for government agencies. Mr. Murphy is the Program Manager for Aspen’s contracts with the California Energy Commission to provide assistance in the review of applications for certification for over 115 power plants.
